What Is a Return Inspection Video, and Why Do Marketplaces Ask for It
The marketplace never sees your parcel. It sees a complaint, a return label and whatever evidence you can produce. A return inspection video is that evidence: the parcel sealed, the label, the box being opened and what was inside.
Three claim types turn on it: a different product returned, a damaged unit, and a short or empty parcel. Without a recording, each is your word against the customer's. Every platform also runs its own clock, and some run in hours.

How Does TrackVid Record a Return
Use the cameras you already have. TrackVid records from a webcam or an RTSP camera, which covers the IP, CCTV and DVR cameras most warehouses already run. No new hardware, go-live in under 15 minutes, and no audio.

How Does Good or Bad Logging Work
When the next scan closes the recording, TrackVid shows one prompt, headed "Select Received Return Condition", with two buttons: Good and Bad. That is the whole decision.

The unit is sellable. It goes back to stock and the recording stays on file. A return inspected Good costs zero credits, so clean returns do not add to your bill. See pricing.
Bad
The unit is not what you sent out, or not in the state you sent it. The flag is stored on the order and travels into the claim queue with the recording and photos.

That placeholder is deliberate. The product stores the received condition as Good or Bad and nothing else, so no reason list is published here until one is confirmed. Two fields are often mistaken for it: the claim type picked when a claim is raised, and the free-text reason a marketplace sends back with a rejection.

What Happens to a Bad Return
A Bad return becomes a claimable event. TrackVid matches the order, attaches the packing video, the return inspection video and the parcel and label photos, and files on your own seller portal access using robotic process automation, inside that platform's window.

Yes, and that pair settles most disputes. Both recordings carry the same Order ID and AWB, so they open from the same record, labelled Forward Video and Return Video. Search matches a tracking ID, order number or AWB.

What If the Return Never Arrives
Return reconciliation covers the gap between what the marketplace says it sent back and what your desk actually scanned. It flags returns marked complete that never arrived, RTO units never scanned back, and quantity mismatches.
On AJIO, not delivered returns and delivery dispute returns are raised automatically, from your master import or a sheet upload.
Who Should Record Returns
Any seller whose return rate runs into double figures. Fashion, footwear and beauty sellers feel it first, because a size swap and a product swap look identical on a dispatch report.
Volume is the second test. At 100 orders a day with a quarter coming back, that is 25 inspections a day, which no spreadsheet survives.
